Mags has had ICP in all four of her pregnancies; her third precious daughter was stillborn. Mags has also gone on to have a successful pregnancy after loss and knows how hard the journey is.

I’ve been volunteering for ICP Support since 2020 after I had my first son. In 2022, with the knowledge and support from this community, I was able to safely deliver a second baby boy, despite having severe ICP.
Being a moderator not only helped me manage my second pregnancy, but has allowed me to really be able to put myself in the shoes of anyone affected by ICP. I know what it’s like to feel lost and alone when waiting for a diagnosis and once getting one.
I’m so glad to be able to put our members’ minds at ease to help them navigate this complicated and distressing condition.

I stepped down as CEO of ICP Support in March 2024 and I am looking forward to being able to focus on research into ICP. I have worked with Professor Catherine Williamson since 1997 and was formally employed as part of her team at Imperial College London in 2005.
My role as a volunteer in ICP Support will be to advise them on the latest developments regarding ICP. I am also the named contact for anyone interested in taking part in research into the condition.

In December 2012 I was diagnosed with ICP at 34 weeks. It was my first pregnancy, and to say I was worried was an understatement. I had never heard of ICP and the hospital seemed to know very little. I went home on the Friday night with so many questions. I came across ICP Support and phoned them. The advice, support and help I received was invaluable, reassuring and so friendly. I was induced at 38 weeks and delivered a healthy baby boy. I would have been lost without the support of the group and their research. Volunteering for the group is a small way of me saying thank you.

Ian has been responsible for the ICP Support website since 2009, taking it through three redesigns. He also handles the IT involved in running the charity.
In his day job he is a freelance editor and typesetter.

Kim is mother to two little itches. Both pregnancies were textbook perfect until the sudden and severe onset of ICP, both resulting in pre-term deliveries. What surprised Kim the most in her second pregnancy was the emotional impact of waiting to see if ICP would develop again, despite knowing all of the research provided by ICP Support. Kim is happy to be able to provide support to others passing through their ICP journey.

I have been a moderator since October 2022 and joined as a Trustee in November 2023. I live in Nottingham and work as a solicitor. I’m a mummy to two little itches, aged four and two. I had ICP in both my pregnancies (severely with the second) and found the ICP Support resources and support invaluable in helping to make difficult decisions. ICP Support does such a brilliant and important job and I want to help ensure that we continue to be around to support as many people as possible.
